Stella-Maris Nwakamma is a dynamic and creative professional with a passion for African culture, food systems, and community development. A 2025 Fellow of the School of Politics, Policy and Governance (SPPG), she currently serves as the Lead of the Content and Editorial Workstream for the Food Security Insights Capstone Project, where she brings her storytelling expertise and cultural lens to shape narratives that inform, engage, and inspire.
As a professional chef, she is deeply committed to the idea that food should not only feed the body, but also nourish the soul and preserve identity. Her culinary work focuses on developing rich, healthy meals that celebrate African ingredients while addressing food insecurity across Nigeria and the continent. Her commitment to sustainable food systems is driven by a belief that food is both a basic right and a powerful tool for transformation.
In addition to her work in food advocacy, she is the founder of an Afrocentric fashion brand that creates distinctive pieces designed to preserve and promote the richness of African heritage. She also curates cultural content through her YouTube channel, @Star Afrique, where she shares travel experiences, artistic expressions, and stories from across the continent.
Her broader creative interests include resin artwork, mentoring young girls, and spending time in nature, activities that reflect her commitment to both inner growth and social impact. A thoughtful communicator and lifelong learner, she is passionate about exploring ideas that foster inclusive development and empower communities through culture, creativity, and collaboration.
