Afeez Olawuwo is a seasoned project and product management professional with over a decade of experience spanning food systems, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, development finance, and public sector reform. He currently serves as Executive Director of the TruORGANIC Initiative, where he leads strategic efforts to promote climate-smart agriculture, nutrition-sensitive value chains, and regenerative organic farming across Nigeria and West Africa.
Afeez brings deep expertise in multi-stakeholder engagement, agroecology, and participatory development, supporting transformational programs that bridge grassroots action with national and regional policy innovation. His work reflects a systems-thinking approach that integrates evidence, climate resilience, and inclusive design across sectors.
As a mentor at the School of Politics, Policy and Governance (SPPG), Afeez advises on the Food Security Capstone Project while contributing to national reform initiatives such as the Out-of-School Children Project (FCT & Nasarawa) and Project BRINCS (Building Resilience in Nigeria Civil Service), in collaboration with the National Broadcasting Commission. His contributions support education access, institutional reform, and the resilience of Nigeria’s civil service.
He has also played a leading role in climate-agriculture intelligence, including delivering the Seasonal Rainfall Prediction (SRP) Workshop with HEDA and NiMet, helping Nigerian farmers translate weather data into actionable farming strategies. As Community Manager at SustyVibes, he coordinated regional advocacy on agroecological transition and environmental justice.
Afeez also served as Secretary of the Network Exchange Ad-Hoc Committee (KCOA/NOAN), where he designed and delivered a stakeholder exchange framework for Nigeria’s organic agriculture ecosystem. This included coordinating baseline data from over 500 stakeholders, leading participatory engagement sessions, and supporting the technical rollout of the exchange platform via KoboToolbox.
His policy advocacy is rooted in data-driven insight and grassroots collaboration. A trained environmental advocate and data strategist, Afeez is passionate about indigenous food systems, youth inclusion in agri-innovation, and building future-facing platforms that advance food sovereignty and ecological justice across Africa.
