Ahmad Akala is a dedicated Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professional with multidisciplinary experience spanning agriculture, manufacturing, biotechnology, and the oil and gas sectors. He currently works in the United Kingdom as an Offshore HSE Advisor, where he applies safety standards and operational excellence in high-risk environments.
Ahmad is also an agri-entrepreneur with deep involvement in Nigeria’s food systems. He founded and managed two companies focused on catfish farming, meat processing, and distribution across Lagos and Ogun States. A committed member of the Lagos State Catfish Farmers Association of Nigeria (LASCAFAN), he has benefited from several agricultural interventions and continues to advocate for scalable, value-driven agri-business solutions.
With academic qualifications in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, and Microbiology, and certified through NEBOSH, Ahmad blends scientific insight, digital innovation, and HSE strategy to support safer, more resilient food and industrial systems.
As Co-Lead of the Website & IT Workstream of the Food Security Insights Capstone Project, Ahmad contributes content publishing, and user experience expertise to help ensure the platform is intuitive, engaging, and user-friendly.
