Leonard Jesse Hyuwa is a dedicated advocate for agricultural development, with a strong background in agricultural science, grassroots engagement, and youth empowerment. He holds a degree in Agricultural Science from Kaduna State University and is an Aspire Leaders Program alumnus, recognized for his dedication to inclusive leadership and community impact.

Leonard currently serves as the Agricultural Domain Leader for the Aspire Alumni Network in Nigeria, where he leads national initiatives that promote digital inclusion and capacity building for young agri-preneurs. Through curated speaker series and e-commerce training programs, he empowers young people to leverage innovation and technology for success in agribusiness.

A former President of the National Association of Agricultural Students, Leonard led transformative projects that impacted over 1,000 students and local community members across Nigeria. His work focuses on bridging the gap between research, innovation, and smallholder empowerment—key pillars of food system transformation.

As a member of the Research and Data Workstream of the Food Security Insights Capstone Project, Leonard brings data-driven insights and policy engagement skills to strengthen food security efforts from the grassroots up. He also volunteers with the Nigerian Red Cross Society, reflecting his deep humanitarian values and commitment to serving others.

Leonard believes that true leadership is defined by action and integrity, not titles. His mission is to contribute meaningfully to food systems transformation through evidence-based advocacy, community-driven solutions, and inclusive policy design.
