Uzochukwudinma Awele Otakpor, widely known as Uzo, is a social advocate, auditor, and development professional with a strong passion for equity, accountability, and inclusive governance. She holds a BSc in Accounting from Benson Idahosa University, an MSc in Forensic Audit and Accounting from the University of South Wales (UK), and is currently pursuing a Doctorate at the University of Abuja, Nigeria.
Uzo currently serves as an Internal Auditor with a government agency, where she contributes to transparency, financial compliance, and institutional accountability. In addition to her public sector role, she actively partners with NGOs working on environmental, educational, and health interventions, with a strong focus on supporting Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in and around Abuja.
As a member of the Content and Editorial Workstream of the Food Security Insights Capstone Project, Uzo contributes to policy storytelling and community-driven change.
She is a 2025 Fellow of the School of Politics, Policy and Governance (SPPG) and was recently accepted into the Centre for Faith-Based Policy 2025 Cohort, reflecting her deep interest in value-driven leadership and civic engagement. Uzo has published articles on topics including auditor independence and sustainable development, and her thought leadership continues to influence dialogues in the governance and policy space.
She has served on several boards and held leadership positions that have driven meaningful change in her community. A multi-award recipient both locally and internationally, Uzo enjoys reading, mentoring, and volunteering, constantly seeking opportunities for personal growth and public impact.
